I think that Mr. Worf must have exchanged his standard-issue federation boots for a pair of easyspirit at some point in the series, because toward the end of the show it seemed to me that he was a lot more mellow than he was in the earlier episodes.

Maybe it was the effect of several years of being surrounded by humans, but personally, I’m betting on the shoes.

I spent some time this morning looking at various sites featuring funny tshirts. I was looking primarily for shirts with a Star Trek theme, because, well, that’s what we do here. There were the classic TOS uniform shirts, a red shirt that says, “Expendable” accross the front, and, my personal favorite, a blue shirt featuring a star field with the words, “%20, the final frontier”.

A pun that involves Star Trek and HTML. How cool is that?

Did you know that Georgetown University in Washington offers a class in Star Trek philosophy? It’s listed on toptenz.net.

One wonders, given the fact that Washington is quite a long haul for most of the country, if they offer enough Star Trek related courses to get an online business degree by watching my favorite show.

I could certainly handle the idea of getting an online business degree that way. ;)

Which would you rather do:

  1. Take some high-tech modern gadget such as an ipod touch 8g into the past, “invent” it, make arrangements to leave the impending fortune to yourself in the present, then return and be incredibly rich,
  2. or

  3. Take the same gadget into the far distant future and sell it as an antique for an instant fortune?

Personally, I’d go for option number one.

What’s your opinion?

Last week’s poll has closed. The question was “have you ever attended a Star Trek convention in costume?” There were exactly zero “Yes” votes and zero “No” votes, so we have a tie. Two people answered “Other” with the comments “No, but I want to!” and “No but only because of a lack of opportunity”.

Hopefully, this week’s poll won’t die such a sad and lonely death. Our question this week is “Who is your favorite Star Trek captain?”
