There are probably hundreds of home made parodies of and tributes to Star Trek online if you search a little bit. One which we ran into several months ago was particularly well done. While the folks who put it together couldn’t necessarily afford “uniforms” per se, they went to the trouble of supplying all the actors with men’s polo shirts which had a realistic-looking insignia stitched onto the front.

The special effects were obviously home brewed, but well done, nonetheless. Unfortunately, the name and URL of this particular parody has been lost to the ravages of a failing memory. The only other bit that sticks in our collective consciousness is the fact that instead of a beagle, the captain had a pet iguana.

If anyone can remember what this was and where to find it, we would be very appreciative.

Mel Brooks was known for movie parodies and his science fiction parody Spaceballs was a classic example of his work.

The movie primarily parodies the original Star Wars trilogy, with characters like Lone Star and Barf who travel around in a modified Winnebago RV (which you just KNOW doesn’t carry any rv insurance). They rescue Princess Vespa and her gold-colored android android named Dot Matrix from the evil Dark Helmet with the aid of a wise old sage named Yogurt who teaches them the about a mysterious power known as The Schwartz.

Sprinkled through the movie are references to Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Indiana Jones, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Alien.

Here’s an interesting parody of Star Trek. Made by YouTube user TinFoilChefDotCom, Phat Trek chronicles the adventures of Tiberius T. Crane as he embarks on the mission as captain of the starship Enterprise as part of a dream sequence that began in Troll Wars – Episode 2.

Without a doubt, this has got to be the most unique Stat Trek parody we’ve seen to date.

Have you ever been watching the Original Series episode “Arena” and found yourself wondering why the Gorn reminded you a little bit of someone? We have decided that it’s because he has a famous cousin and we created this video to explain the situation more fully.

The shot of the Enterprise‘s main view screen is very useful to people making Star Trek videos because all you have to do is create a mask that more or less cuts a hole in the picture where the screen is and then on a layer under that hole you can put Darth Vader, or a series of Forex training webinars or anything else that comes to mind.

If you’ve spent much time looking at funny pictures on the internet, then you’ve doubtlessly run into “demotivational posters”. These posters are parodies of the “Motivational Posters” that were big in the office environment a while back. The difference here is that instead of inspiring you to achieve success, these are intended more as a humorous distraction.

Here are a few Star Trek-related demotivational posters that can be found:

dr. mccoy demotivational poster

redshirt demotivational poster

Voyager VI demotivational poster

spock demotivational poster

T'Pol demotivational Poster
