The Incredible Hulk

The Return Of The Incredible Hulk was the second pilot for The Incredible Hulk.

It originally aired as a 95 minute made-for-tv movie, but in syndication this was broken into a two-part episode titled “Death In The Family”. The DVD release has the two-part episode re-combined into a 95 minute episode titled “Death In The Family”.

Plot Summary

David continues on the run from Jack McGee and the authorities, with everyone believing that he was killed along with Elaina. Still trying to find a cure, David accidentally finds himself in the middle of a plot to kill a young, crippled girl so her unscrupulous family can inherit the fortune.

Note: Gerald McRaney makes his first of four guest appearances.

Christopher Lloyd

The many faces of Christopher Lloyd

Christopher Lloyd is turning 73 years old today.

While most people will automatically associate his name with the character Doc Brown from the Back To The Future trilogy or the Klingon commander in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock, his filmography dates back to 1970′s Airport.

The role of his which I enjoyed the most was the Reverend Jim Ignatowsk in the television sitcom Taxi from 1978 to 1983. Jim described himself as “The living embodiment of the sixties” and one would think that about him even if he hadn’t said it, given the way he dressed and acted. Given that the character Jim Ignatowski was a fan of the original Star Trek series, it seems only fitting that the actor who played him appeared in one of the Star Trek films.

Body Of Proof PosterABC’s Body of Proof is about a medical examiner (Dr Megan Hunt played by Dana Delany) whose keen observation skills solve even the most confusing cases.

So, what’s it doing on a science fiction blog? Well…

  • It’s science.
  • It’s fiction.
  • and best of all,

  • Dr. Hunt’s boss, the Chief Medical Examiner, is played by Jeri Ryan, who gained recognition playing Seven Of Nine, the liberated Borg who joined the cast of Star Trek: Voyager in that show’s third season.

The easiest way to describe the show is to say that if you remember Quincy, M.E. from the 1970s, picture that show with a few subplots that carry from one episode to the next and a medical staff that is a whole lot easier to look at than Jack Klugman.

The show airs on ABC Tuesday nights at 10/9c and, if you want to catch up on the episodes you’ve missed, a quick search on the internet’s most popular search engine will turn up places where you can watch them online.

Sometimes when writers get the idea to make a new movie based upon an older television show they’d be better off not following through on the project. Believe it or not, this time I’m not talking about J. J. Abrams and Star Trek.

This time it’s Lost In Space. For the most part I enjoyed the movie that came out a few years ago, but they got Dr. Zachary Smith’s character all wrong. In the movie, Smith was a crafty evil-doer whose only goal was do get himself back home and he had no qualms about destroying the Robinson family in the process. In the original series, Smith wasn’t so much a crafty bad guy as a clumsy buffoon who should have stayed home writing wix reviews. Most of the series seemed to center around the Robinson family having to bail Smith out of some predicament that he’d gotten himself into.

Personally, I think the movie would have been better if Smith had been more like he was in the Irwin Allen television series.

I thought of something funny yesterday. While I was channel surfing, I noticed that SYFY was running an all-day marathon of the 1980-something series, “Tales From The Dark Side”.

It immediately dawned on me that this show should have had a host to introduce each segment, instead of just an unseen narrator. The obvious candidate for that host would have been Darth Vader.
